Phil's Kids Project
Phil's Kids Project is reaching out to children who are living with a parent, grandparent or significant adult in their life who is going through a serious/life-threatening illness. We seek to provide a ray of sunshine, a respite from the illness.
This project was started by the Smith family in honor of their husband, father and grandfather Phillip Smith, who suffered from Alzheimer's Disease before he went home to be with the Lord. Phil loved spending time with his grandchildren and their friends. He loved watching kids have fun. He also delighted in creating special hand-carved items and special trips/events with his grandchildren, Danielle and Drew. It was with that in mind that Phil's Kids Project was born.
This ministry will work with the child and their ill adult to create a special day, whether it's making a special craft or going out for dinner or going shopping. Think of us as a mini Make-A-Wish Foundation. We hope the experience will create a special memory for all involved.
